24 Hour Furnace Repair & Replacement

Certified Services repairs all top HVAC brands, makes and models – whether they be electric, propane or natural gas. We are proud to be your trusted option for quick, local heating repair when your furnace is acting up or has quit on you altogether. Get your furnace repaired in 3 easy steps:

  1. Call or fill out a contact form to let a Certified Services representative know how we can help you.
  2. We’ll setup a day and time that’s most convenient for you to have your furnace fixed. Remember, we offer emergency home furnace repair if you need it!
  3. On the day of your appointment, your technician will call to let you know he’s on his way.

When a Certified technician arrives at your home, he will perform a full diagnostic on your furnace to determine the problem and how to best fix it. He will walk you through a discussion of your repair options and may even recommend replacing the unit. Replacement is most often recommended in these two scenarios:

  • Your furnace is over 10 years old and may need several replacement parts in the next few years. The cost of the replacement parts might be better spent when put towards a new unit.
  • Your furnace is aged and running inefficiently. The cost of furnace replacement might be less than running an inefficient unit for several years.

Furnace Service & Maintenance

To extend the life of your heating system, you should schedule furnace service at least twice a year – in the fall and spring.

Have it cleaned and inspected in September or October before the Ohio winter kicks in and you’ll be using it more frequently. Then have it inspected again in March to see how it handled the winter season, and to ensure that it’ll be okay to sit unused until the next winter.

While there are a handful of maintenance items that you can do yourself, furnaces have a lot of complicated moving parts that are best handled by experienced technicians. A heating and cooling expert can help you complete your annual maintenance by thoroughly examining your furnace from top to bottom and fixing any parts or issues that he or she finds. Certified Services offers preventive maintenance plans in which we provide both air conditioner and furnace service. Below is just a brief overview of the work that your HVAC professional will complete.

Test the thermostat calibration. Your thermostat determines the efficiency of your furnace system – efficiency that equates to longer life and lower utility bills – so your technician will check to see that it’s working properly.

Inspect all moving parts. Your technician will test the system’s startup cycle, check all belts for signs of wear, check the burner for proper ignition and more.

Inspect all electrical connections and fuel lines. The technician will ensure that all electric and fuel connections are secure and do not show signs of rust or corrosion.

Adjust ventilation. Just like your thermostat, proper ventilation is key to furnace efficiency. Your technician will check the vent system for leaks or blockages.

Prepare for winter warmth and safety now by scheduling your furnace maintenance with Certified Services. When your furnace is well-maintained, it will operate efficiently and can reduce fuel and energy waste to lower your annual heating costs.

Furnace FAQ

The main difference between gas and electric furnaces is the way they generate heat. When you turn on a gas furnace, an igniter activates gas-powered burners that create heat in a combustion chamber. When you turn on an electric furnace, an array of heating elements – usually electric coils – start to warm up as currents run through them. While electric furnaces are smaller in size and don’t come with the potential for gas leaks, gas furnaces are typically more cost effective.

Furnaces can last up to 15 years if they’re properly maintained. Some of the most finicky components that may need to be replaced more often than others include thermostats and heat exchangers.

Three frequent signs that a furnace is in need of repair or replacement are abnormally high utility bills, dirty air in your home, or leaks around the unit. Our HVAC technicians can inspect your furnace, discuss the safety of the existing unit, and walk you through a cost analysis of repair and replacement options.

The three most common causes for this problem are

  • broken thermostats
  • dirty air filters causing the furnace to overheat and shut down, and
  • pilot lights gone out.
